(EN)“El Guardián del Maíz” (The Guardian of the Corn), feminine-masculine, day-night, the duality that is part of our nature. The guardian of the corn was inspired by the caves where the first corn seeds were found next to a cave figure of a jaguar. The ancestors attributed the care of the most important seeds of our Mexican culture to the jaguar, who is also the most important animal in the Mexican ecosystem. In this work the jaguar is giving birth to the corn seed, representing a duality of shadow and light. On the jaguar's body there are moons that represent the influence of the moon on the feminine energy. The drops of water represent the vital liquid that is fundamental for life.

El guardián del maíz ha sido inspirado en las cuevas en donde se han encontrado los primeros granos de maíz al lado de una figura rupestre de un jaguar. Los ancestros atribuían el cuidado de las semillas más importantes de nuestra cultura mexicana al jaguar, quien es también el animal más importante en el ecosistema mexicano.En esta obra el jaguar está dando a luz a la semilla de maíz, representando una dualidad de sombra y luz. En el cuerpo del jaguar hay lunas que representan la influencia de la luna en la energía femenina. Las gotas de agua representan el líquido vital que es fundamental para la vida.
